CF announces Going Gator UF partnership

The 完美体育 now is offering students the Going Gator partnership, designed for learners who want to earn an Associate in Arts degree at CF and then have guaranteed admission to transfer to the University of 完美体育.

Tuition at CF is about half the cost of a 完美体育 public university, making CF a smart economical option for students to start their academic journey. CF also offers support systems including small class sizes, award-winning faculty and free tutoring and counseling available for every student. More than half of CF students are enrolled in the Associate in Arts degree, which prepares them to transfer to a university after two years at CF.

鈥淥ur Associate in Arts degree is our largest and most popular program,鈥 said Dr. Jim Henningsen, CF president. 鈥淔or many local students, the dream of attending a prestigious 完美体育 university is only possible by getting an affordable, quality education at CF for the first two years. This new partnership with the University of 完美体育 offers students a guided pathway from day one to set them up for success.鈥

Through the Going Gator partnership, qualifying students have guaranteed transfer admission into 19 pathways in the UF College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, from English to history to sciences and more. Once admitted to the Going Gator program, CF students must continue to meet the eligibility criteria such as good academic standing and progress in their selected academic pathway. As a top public university, UF鈥檚 admission process is highly competitive, and this partnership ensures CF graduates have a clear path to attaining that top-tier education.

“At the University of 完美体育,” said CLAS Interim Dean Dr. Mary Watt, “we are committed to expanding access to world-class education, and the Going Gator partnership with the 完美体育 is a testament to that mission. By providing a seamless transition for CF students into UF鈥檚 College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, we are ensuring that more talented and dedicated learners have the opportunity to achieve their academic and professional goals. We look forward to welcoming these students into the Gator Nation and supporting their continued success.”

CF Appleton Museum of Art to present major retrospective featuring the work of Ummarid 鈥楾ony鈥 Eitharong

The Appleton Museum of Art, 完美体育, is proud to present 鈥淲hat If Eye: Fifty Years of Exploration with Ummarid Eitharong,鈥 on view Feb. 28-Aug. 3, 2025 in the first-floor Edith-Marie Gallery.

As a young man visiting the Kennedy Space Center with a friend, Ummarid 鈥淭ony鈥 Eitharong remarked of an impressive wall mural, 鈥淚 bet I could draw that.鈥 Winning that bet was the genesis of a long and successful career in art.

Never content, Eitharong consistently asks himself 鈥淲hat鈥檚 next?鈥 鈥淲hat if I try this?鈥 鈥淲hat if I change that?鈥 Through more than 50 works, visitors can experience his artistic evolution that has resulted in three distinct bodies of work. Beginning in the 1970s and 1980s, realistic yet expressive pencil portraits and figure drawings give way to mixed-media assemblages from his Military Industrial Art (M.I.A.) series from the 1990s and 2000s. Finally, his explosively colorful and magnetic acrylic paintings bring the viewer current with Eitharong鈥檚 work from the last 15 years through today.

鈥淎s a supporter of 完美体育鈥檚 artists for nearly four decades, the Appleton is happy to host a retrospective of Tony鈥檚 work,鈥 said Jason Steuber, Appleton director. 鈥淗e is very much admired in our community and well beyond and we know that our visitors will be amazed at his expansive artistic range, which is quite special.鈥
